Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi.
On arrival at Nairobi Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of today is at leisure.
Day 2: Nairobi / Mt Kenya (BLD).
This morning after breakfast, meet our representative and depart for Mount Kenya, stopping for lunch at Mountain Lodge. Check- in, and depart on an afternoon and evening game safari from the lodge. Kenya's highest mountain with its snow-capped peaks stands in stark contrast to the dry grasslands around. It is widely regarded as the world's most perfect model of an equatorial mountain. Mount Kenya Safari Club stands at the foothills of Mt Kenya and offers an animal orphanage.
Day 3: Mt Kenya / Samburu or Shaba (BLD)
After checking out today, we drive to Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch. Samburu National Reserve is rugged and remote. The reserve lies in the semi-desert area of Kenya's Northern Frontier District. The lava plain with steep-sided gullies and rounded hills, is physically dramatic with the great Ololokwe Table Mountain in the background. Some of Kenya's rare species habituate this area including the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx and blue-shanked Somali ostrich. The afternoon is spent game viewing. Shaba National Reserve, a small gem of wildlife wilderness, this reserve takes its name from a cone of volcanic rock. Shaba is one of Kenya's most pristine reserves with untouched scenery and unspoilt splendours. The riverine swamp is great for leopard viewing.
Day 4: Samburu or Shaba (BLD)
Morning and afternoon game viewing. Samburu National Reserve situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya. This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra from the surrounding savannah plains. The river forest attracts a wide variety of birds.
Day 5: Samburu or Shaba / Lake Nakuru (BLD)
After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. This shallow soda lake is world-renowned as home to the myriad flocks of greater and lesser flamingos that form stunning pink ribbons along the edge of the lake.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara (BLD)
Today we head for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. The Masai Mara National Park is famous for the annual wildebeest migration, when over a million wildebeest and thousands of zebra from the southern plains of the Serengeti, follow the rains, in search of fresh grasslands (July - September).
Day 7: Masai Mara (BLD)
Today, those more adventurous can enjoy a memorable hot air balloon safari over the endless plains of the Masai Mara (cost of excursion not included in package price). Upon landing, a champagne breakfast in the bush awaits you.
Day 8: Masai Mara / Nairobi (BLD)
After your early morning game drive, return to camp for a hearty breakfast, and thereafter, transfer back to Nairobi. We suggest you ?take tea at the Norfolk?, an ?olde-world? Nairobi tradition (optional and not included in package price).
Day 9: Nairobi / Home
This morning after breakfast, transfer to Nairobi Airport for your flight back home.
