Your journey begins at Africa's Southern gateway. Gaze at the spectacle that greeted the early explorers, as Table Mountain appears to rise from the sea - a stunning setting for a very special city.
Explore the ghostly deserts of Namibia, nothing but endless horizons and vast expanses of night stars. Go where giant sand dunes merge with the Atlantic Ocean. Go on safari in Etosha, 'the Great White Place', where the fireside tales will be of lion, rhino, elephant and much more.
Navigate the winding streams and isolated lagoons of the Okavango Delta. Sit back and relax as your guide gently poles your Makoro through these clear waters. Get up close and personal with some of the most exciting creatures on earth. Join the adrenaline junkies at Victoria Falls. Be insane for a day as you jump off bridges or boogie board head-first down the immense rapid runs of the Zambezi. Sit tight as you witness the Falls from a micro-light aircraft or take it easy on an upper Zambezi River cruise and watch the African bush go gently on by.

Itinerary
DAY 1 - Cape Town
Sample the sights and sounds of this magical city at the Southern end of the African continent. A host of optional activities are available including, trips to Robben Island, Peninsular tours, wine tasting, and much more. All meals on this day will be to the client's expense.
DAY 2 - Lamberts Bay (340 km) 5 hours
Clients to meet at 08h30 am for the pre-departure meeting. We depart Cape Town at approx 10h00 am to Lamberts Bay, where we camp for the night. Here you have the option of visiting the well-known 'Bird Island' (own expense).
This is your first night's camping and your guides will give you a full demonstration on how to set up your tents. Normally before or after your evening meal, your guides will talk about the following day's activities, what to expect and let everyone know the time of breakfast for the following morning. Where meals are specified in this dossier, they are included and will be prepared by your guides with some assistance from you. Breakfast and Lunch included. Dinner at your own expense.

DAY 3 - Gariep River (360 km) 5 hours
We head to the Gariep River and our camp which is located on the banks of the river. This rustic reed river camp is situated on the South African side of the river. Optional activities available include: walks along the river, canoe trips, or just relaxing at the river-side bar. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

DAY 4 - The Fish River Canyon (180 km) 2 hours
Our first border crossing is into Namibia as we head for the awesome Fish River Canyon. Your guides will assist with all border formalities. There will be ample time to take in a beautiful sunset over the canyon, or partake in an optional walk around the rim of the canyon. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAYS 5 & 6 - The Namib Naukluft National Park (580 km) 9 hours
We continue on to The Namib Naukluft National Park and the giant sand dunes of Sossusvlei. This is one of the world's oldest deserts, offering over 130 million years of natural wonders, and the highest sand dunes in the world! Optional adventure activities include guided walks, hot air ballooning and light aircraft flights. On day 6 we leave the camp very early and travel into the park. We head for Dune 45 and climb it for a magnificent sunrise, after which we proceed on to Sossusvlei and the 2x4 parking area. From here it is an approximate 5 km walk to the vlei where you are free to explore. There is an option for a guided walk (this is to the clients own expense). We return to camp. In the late afternoon you'll be taken to the nearby Sesriem canyon and return to camp for the evening meal.
There is a small swimming pool at the camp if you wish to relax and soak up the sun. Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.

DAYS 7 & 8 - Swakopmund (360 km) 5 hours
A delightful Bavarian-style town, situated snugly between sea and desert. Great beaches, deep-sea fishing, quad-biking, dune-boarding, flights over the desert, plus an array of shops, bars and restaurants. In Swakopmund you are free to explore at your leisure or partake in the many optional activities. This is also a chance to catch up on laundry, banks and communication. Breakfast and lunch on Day 7, and Breakfast on Day 8.
DAYS 9 & 10 - Etosha National Park (590 km) 9 hours
Leaving Swakopmund we journey via the awesome granite moonscape scenery that Namibia is so famous for. The mountains and granite mounds provided a home to the San people for thousands of years. We will arrive at the world famous Etosha National Park where we will camp and prepare ourselves for our big game safari experience. Dominated by shimmering white saltpans you have a chance to see elephant as well as black rhino, lion and leopard. Most camps have floodlit water holes, which are excellent for after dinner game viewing, as well as swimming pools for cooling off during the heat of the day. We will enjoy 3 game drives whilst at Etosha - all taken in your WildLife Adventures vehicle. Typically we will make an early start, which is ideal for morning game viewing, and drive to some of the waterholes in the park before heading back to camp for brunch. Approximately 3-hours per game drive. In the afternoons we will take another game drive and return back to camp before dark for dinner.

DAY 11 - Waterberg Plateau National Park (260 km) 6 hours
We leave Etosha bound for the stunning Waterberg Plateau National Park. Historically significant because it was the site of the war between the Germans and the Hereros, the area has now become a haven for many endangered species. It is renowned for its incredible rock formations and walks. Your time in the Waterberg is your own and you are free to walk in the park at your leisure. Optional game drives and guided walks are available. Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.

DAY 12 - Gobabis (510 km) 8 hours
'Desert and Sea' and 'Wild Waters Explorer' are modules of our 'Northern Quest' tour, and all clients booked on these modules will be collected or dropped off in Windhoek before proceeding to Gobabis.
We travel towards the border between Namibia and Botswana and to Gobabis where we will overnight on a private game farm. This is our last night in Namibia and a fitting place for fireside tales of your journey thus far. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAY 13 - Maun (516 km) 10 hours
We wake up early for our departure to the border post of Botswana. Once all the formalities have been completed we head for Maun, which is the gateway to the fantastic Okavango Delta. We will prepare for the following days to come and be briefed by your guides on what to take into the Delta. Please remember space in the Makoros (local word for canoe - and your mode of transport into the Delta) is at a premium and a small overnight bag with your sleeping bag and necessary clothes for 2 days is all that is needed. Our campsite is just outside the centre of Maun. Although a small town, Maun has several shops, good communications and banks. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAYS 14 & 15 - Okavango Delta
An early morning pickup awaits us where will be transferred to the Makoro poling station by vehicle. We will be assigned our Makoro - each complete with a poler /guide. After a two to three hour Makoro journey in the Delta we will stop and set up camp. The Delta is an incredible maze of inland waterways and lagoons. We will be on safari Makoro style, poled gently along, floating through this haven of wildlife and birds. You will be taken on game walks by your poler-guides to experience the full splendour of the region. Please note that there are no ablution facilities, and camps will be bush camps. Meals will be carefully planned for this duration. Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.

DAY 16 - Nata (300 km) 5 hours
After breakfast we are gently poled back to the vehicle pick up point and transferred by vehicle back to our base camp near Maun. We collect our vehicle and depart for Nata. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 17 - Chobe National Park (306 km) 5 hours
We depart Nata and head for Kasane and our camp on the banks of the Chobe River. We will arrive in time for an included guided river cruise with game viewing. The fabulous Chobe National Park is famous for its huge herds of elephant and your guided river cruise should provide excellent sightings of elephant, hippo, crocodile, and an impressive array of birds and plains game. There is also a swimming pool at the camp for relaxing. Breakfast and lunch included.
DAYS 18 & 19 - Victoria Falls (90 km) 2 hours
A short drive from Chobe takes us to the spectacular village of Victoria Falls - one of the 'Seven Natural Wonders' of the world. You are free to explore it at your leisure. Visit the captivating Victoria Falls Rainforest, take a sun downer cruise or enjoy hoards of other adventure activities (own expense). DAY 20 - Victoria Falls
Day at leisure enjoy the many optional attractions and activities available in Victoria Falls. All meals will be for your own account.
On Day 20, clients should meet at the Victoria Falls Rest Camp at 18h30 pm for the pre-departure meeting. This meeting will give you all a chance to meet your fellow travellers and get to know your guides for the next leg of your trip. The meeting will cover all the aspects of the trip. Please bring with you to this meeting: your passport with relevant visa's and evidence of medical and personal insurance.
DAY 21 - Victoria Falls - Lusaka (485 km) 8 hours
Our first day on the road! We depart early for the border crossing into Zambia, and the capital Lusaka. Our camp is on the outskirts of the city in a privately owned rest camp. Game can sometimes be seen grazing in the camp grounds at Eureka. Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.
DAY 22 - Lusaka - Petauke (260 km) 7 ½ hours
We proceed through pristine African bush to our bush camp in a rural village outside Petauke. This is a fantastic way to catch an authentic glimpse of rural African life, as we literally camp inside the village. Cultural exchanges abound and these camps are always a highlight. We choose our stops very carefully in conjunction with the chiefs of each village, and your guides will advise you on some guidelines for responsible tourism. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAYS 23 & 24 Petauke - South Luangwa National Park (190km) 7 hours
Heading north we visit the awe inspiring South Luangwa National Park notably one of Africa's best-kept secrets. With over 9000 sq km of pristine wilderness, South Luangwa is teeming with over 47 animal species - herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra, hyena, jackal, 15 different antelope and the endemic Cookson's wildebeest and Thornicroft's Giraffe. We will enjoy 2 included game drives into the park - one will be approx a 4-hour drive starting at 6:00 in the morning and slightly later during winter. The second game drive will be on the evening of the same day - departure time will be approx 4.00 pm. Once it gets dark we will make use of a spotlight to track down nocturnal species such as leopard and spotted genets. Returning to camp to an already prepared and welcome dinner at approx 8:00pm. Flatdogs camp is well situated on the banks of the Luangwa River - a good chance to view hippo and crocodile. Breakfast and lunch on Day 23. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 24. DAYS 25- South Luangua - Lake Malawi - Senga Bay (236km) 8 ½ hours
We depart South Luangwa bound for Malawi - known as the warm heart of Africa. You will have a chance to interact with these wonderful rural people when we visit the lakeshore fishing villages. Lake Malawi is a stunning freshwater lake that stretches the whole length of Malawi and is the lifeline of the country. Home to over 650 species of fish its fresh clear water and beaches are excellent for swimming and relaxing. Rural fishing villages line the shoreline and you are free to explore them, visiting small schools and markets. We travel up the lake, stopping at carefully selected camps. Out first stop on the lakeshore is the charming Senga Bay near the southern end of the lake. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
DAY 26 & 27 - Senga Bay - Chintheche (237km) 5 hours
Our journey continues up the lake to beautiful rural Chintheche, where we camp close to the shoreline. The Chinteche peninsula is known as one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Malawi. There is the possibility of doing an optional transfer by boat further north up the lake to Nkhata bay or Kande beach, where scuba diving is available as well as other water sports and activities that are on offer. There is a bar and restaurant available at the camp. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 26, Breakfast and lunch on Day 27.

DAY 28 - Lake Malawi, Chiweta (223 km) 4 ½ hours
We travel through the town of Mzuzu, the coffee capital of Malawi, where we will stop if we need to stock up on our fresh food supplies. We then travel to our final stop on the lakeshore, a rustic camp set amongst Baobab trees. Behind the camp is the Livingstonia Plateau home to the mission station that was built by Scottish missionaries in 1894. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 29 Chiweta - Tanzania - Kisolonza Farm, Iringa (810km) 12 ½ hours.
*note there is a time difference between Malawi and Tanzania and we loose and hour crossing into Tanzania as it is 1 hour ahead.
We depart the lake early for the border and cross into Tanzania. We proceed through an ever changing open landscape to our camp just outside of Iringa. There is a local community project at this camp with the Masai tribes-people, and stunning walks into the surrounding bush and mountains can be taken. Iringa is also home to a large timber industry. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
DAY 30 Iringa - Dar es Salaam (505km) 11 hours
We proceed to Dar es Salaam and our camp on the beach. Note: We will travel through Mikumi National Park for 75km where game can be spotted on route. You will be briefed by your guides on the ferry trip to the fabulous Zanzibar Island. Breakfast and lunch included.
DAYS 31, 32 & 33 Dar es Salaam - Zanzibar Island (65km) by sea 2 ½ hours
Early morning departure to the harbour where you will catch the ferry over to Zanzibar Island, accompanied by one of your WildLife Adventures guides. After the immigration and customs formalities have been taken care of we proceed to our hotel. The little Indian Ocean Island of Zanzibar is a cultural melting pot of African, Arabic and Indian cultures. It is renowned for its spice and (never to be forgotten) slave trade.
We have two full days to explore this island with its turquoise waters and beautiful palm fringed beaches. Perhaps take an optional boat trip to snorkel with the dolphins or catch a glimpse of the very rare Red Colubus monkey.

DAY 34 - Zanzibar - Dar es Salaam (65km) by sea
We return to Dar es Salaam and our camp on the beach. We leave Zanzibar on the lunchtime ferry. Breakfast and dinner included.
DAY 35 Dar es Salaam - Arusha (650km) 11 hours
Today is a travelling day, arriving in Arusha during the later part of the afternoon. Arusha is a fairly developed and large town, and known as the 'safari capital of Tanzania'. Upon arrival at our camp in Arusha we start preparations for your excursion into the Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
DAYS 36, 37 & 38 - Excursion to Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro Crater NP (320km) 7 ½ hours outbound 5 hours return.
Arusha is the gateway into the Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Parks. Travelling in specialized 4x4 vehicles we view the magnificent game these parks have to offer. The Serengeti National Park is world renowned for the great wildebeest migrations and never ending tragedies and joys which accompany them. We also visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the largest unbroken caldera in the world, it plays host to up to 25,000 larger mammals and over 100 species of birds. It will be an early start on Day 36 as we are collected at approximately 8.00am from the camp. You will pack your day-pack and luggage for the next 3 days into smaller game viewing vehicles with picnic lunch, and head for the Serengeti National Park. There will be game viewing en route, and our overnight camp is at Seronera Camp.
On Day 37 we do an early morning game drive in the Serengeti and after lunch head for the Ngorongoro National Park for overnight at Simba Camp.
On Day 38 we will do a morning tour of the Crater in our 4x4 vehicles, and in the afternoon return to the Messianic Snake Park in Arusha for overnight camping.
DAY 39 - Arusha - Nairobi (300 km) 7 hours
We proceed to the border and after the formalities cross over into Kenya and head straight to Nairobi where we end our fantastic adventure. Breakfast and lunch included.
