De Ark Guesthouse
De Ark House dates back to 1857, which makes it one of the oldest remaining buildings in Lydenburg. Initially built as a parsonage, the house was completed in late 1857 with Rev JH Neethling and his family as the first residents. In 1893 it was converted into a double-storey building. During the Anglo-Boer War this house was confiscated by the British and used as an officers mess.
This delightful old house has been lovingly restored and tastefully decorated to reveal the timelessness of a bygone era combined luxury. De Ark offers a combination of self-catering and Bed & Breakfast services.

I had the priveledge to stay at De Ark Guesthouse for a 3 month period and want to express my absolute gratitude to the owner, Mrs. F. le Roux and her staff, for the impeccable service and proffesional treatment recieved. I strongly recommend a visit and stay over to any travelleror visitor in the vacinity of Lydenburg. What a pleasant experience.
