Shingwedzi is in the northern part of the Kruger National Park in the heart of mopane country. A scenic game drive along the Shingwedzi River in a south-easterly direction towards the Kanniedood Dam is one of the most rewarding drives in the Park.
Waterbuck, nyala, kudu and elephant are often seen here and the bird life is prolific.
Staying overnight at Shingwedzi is an experience that will last a lifetime. It is a rustic camp that still carries the essence of the bush and is untouched by modern technology. Experience magical evenings where the accommodation is arranged in two separate circles and the glow emanating from braai (barbecue) stands cast a tranquil spell.
The inner 'A-ring' consists of 31 huts consisting of the original wattle-and-daub buildings set up in 1933. The huts have been carefully remodelled to suit the varying comforts of visitors to Shingwedzi Restcamp in Kruger National Park.
Most of the huts are equipped with three beds and as well as a two bedded loft, and are fitted with air-conditioning, fans, en-suite bathrooms and a verandah. Four bungalows have also been specially fitted to assist those with mobility difficulties at Shingwedzi Restcamp.
The outer 'B-ring' at Shingwedzi Restcamp in Kruger National Park comprises 24 more recently completed bungalows, which are fitted with either two or three beds. Some have their own showers, while the remaining huts are served by two ablution blocks at Shingwedzi Restcamp.

Bungalows - Shingwedzi Two or 3 bed round rooms. equipped with ablutions (most with showers, but some with baths), air-conditioning, some have both hotplates and sinks. Some of the bungalows only have sinks. You have a choice of kitchenette or communal kitchen and more over; with or without riverside view.
Cottage - Shingwedzi One 4 bed unit, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and dining room/lounge, riverside view, 1 double bed.
