Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Johannesburg / Loskop DamYou will be met at Johannesburg International Airport and taken to collect your hired motor home. Make your way to Loskop Dam, via Witbank and Middelburg.
Overnight at the Aventura Resort Loskop Dam.

Day 2: Loskop Dam / Blydepoort
Travel through Dullstroom and Lydenburg to the old miner's town of Pilgrim's Rest. On through Graskop, to the Blyde River Canyon, where you will stay at the Aventura Resort Blydepoort overlooking the superb canyon.

Day 3: Blydepoort / Kruger National Park
Head north towards Hoedspruit and into the famous Kruger National Park through the Orpen Gate. In the Park there are camp-sites at Letaba, Shingwedzi, Satara, Skukuza, Pretoriuskop, Lower Sabie and Crocodile Bridge. All main rest camps have restaurants, shops and petrol stations.  

Day 4-7: Kruger National Park
Suggest you start at the northern rest camps within the Kruger National Park and make your way south. This way it will ensure that you get to see the unrivalled diversity of this 2 million-hectare National Park. 

Day 8: Kruger National Park / Mkhuze
Leave the Kruger National Park, and travel to the Kingdom of Swaziland. Visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory and the Swazi Candle making factory before continuing to Zululand.
Overnight at the campsite at Mkhuze Game Reserve. 

Day 9: Mkhuze 
Spend the day exploring Mkhuze Game Reserve. The reserve is situated on the banks of the Mkhuze River and boasts spectacular woodlands, riverine forests and a unique sand forest. The reserve is famous for its birdlife. 

Day 10: Mkhuze / KwaZulu-Natal
North Coast Travel via Richards Bay, Empangeni to Stanger. Stay at La Mouette Caravan Park, which is right on the beach. 

Day 11-12: KwaZulu-Natal North Coast / KwaZulu-Natal South Coast 
After an early morning swim, continue past Durban to Scottburgh. Scottburgh's caravan park has 1km of beach frontage with rock pools and shark nets. Spend the next few days relaxing on the beach of this popular destination.

Day 13: KwaZulu South Coast / Port Edward
Continue through Port Shepstone, Margate and Ramsgate, just before Port Edward stop for the night at Koelwaters Caravan Park which is situated along the banks of the Umtamvuma River and visit the Wild Coast Casino. 

Day 14: Port Edward / East London
Travel via Mount Ayliff, Mount Frere, Umtata and Butterworth, stopping just north of East London for the night. This region was the former Transkei, and is where Nelson Mandela was born, spent his early childhood, and where he plans to spend his last days. 

Day 15: East London / Addo Elephant National Park 
Take the coastal road passing through Port Alfred, Kenton-on-Sea to Addo Elephant National Park. Stay at Addo Rest Camp. This park offers protection to the most southerly breeding herd of elephant on the African Continent. 

Day 16: Addo Elephant National Park / Tsitsikamma 
Proceed along to the magnificent Garden Route, which starts at Storm's River. Overnight at the Tsitsikamma National Park. The area offers a lot of adrenaline adventures. 

Day 17: Tsitsikamma / Plettenberg Bay
This morning travel along the Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay, with its magnificent spacious stretches of beach, ideal for swimming, surfing or taking long beach walks. Tonight make camp at the Aventura Resort Plettenberg. 

Day 18: Plettenberg Bay 
Using Plettenberg Bay as your base, suggest you explore the quaint village of Knysna, take a cruise on the lake to the Featherbed Nature Reserve and admire the view of the 'Heads', the two majestic rock cliffs at the lagoon?s entrance. 

Day 19: Plettenberg Bay / Swellendam
Continue on past Wilderness, Mossel Bay, Riversdale and onto Swellendam. Stay at the Bontebok National Park, which is home to a breeding nucleus of genetically pure Bontebok, found only in South Africa. 

Day 20: Swellendam / Cape Town 
From Swellendam, continue along the N2 and over Sir Lowry?s Pass, where you will get your first glimpse of Table Mountain. Spend a night at a caravan resort in Simon's Town. 

Day 21: Cape Town 
Explore the fairest Cape, visiting Stellenbosch and the Winelands, or take a cable car ride up Table Mountain.

Day 22: Depart Cape Town Make your way to Cape Town International Airport and drop off your hired motorhome, after exploring most of South Africa.

Notes

VEHICLE: SPIRIT 3 Three berth Motorhome. Based on a Mercedes chassis, this 3 berth vehicle features two spacious double beds and one single bed. The hot water system operates off gas and is electronically ignited from the inside of the vehicle. A full range of line is provided in ceiling-mounted cupboards at the rear of the vehicle. The wardrobe, complete with hangers, is situated next to the toilet and shower compartment. When connected to 220v, the microwave is a luxury for the busy travellers. A gas stove, 12v compressor driven refrigerator and all cooking utensils are found in the compact kitchen unit.
