Somerset West, nestling in the valley below the Hottentots Holland mountains, is ideally placed for energetic pursuits such as cycling tours under the personal guidance of Paul and mountain hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, with Marjolein as guide. A minimum of 5-6 guests is required for each. For the less athletic, theres the Helderberg wine route with excellent estates close to the town, and a selection of beaches nearby only 10 minutes to Strand, for instance, and 15 minutes to Gordons Bay. Historic Stellenbosch is a mere 20-minute drive away.
Stellendal is conveniently situated on the fringes of the Somerset West business hub, so guests are within walking distance of shops and a cosmopolitan buzz of restaurants. The seven en-suite double bedrooms offer guests a taste of Africa, the Bushman room and the Ndebele room, for instance.
